Umm, they're selling his credit cards and passport.

It's a hell of a collection though.

LOL, they didn't do their research very thoroughly.

Page 20 "Whimsical instrument" - that's a Romanian gypsy violin, aka a "stroh" violin.

Well I spent the time to do the 400 pages
The only thing that looked priced right
Was the Elam 251. Even then ..?
US auctions are really heartbreaking to watch
Right now
I would just love a copy of the book !

It is an auction right? Are the figures down the bottom expected starting prices? Or expected selling prices?

Check out this rack:

433 LES PAUL ELECTRONICS RACK
A control room outboard rack containing:
- one silver panel UREI model 1178 stereo two channel compressor limiter, serial number 1791, mid to late 1970s
- two black panel UREI model 1176 LN compressor limiter units by Universal audio serial numbers 4848 and 1175
- silver panel Lang PEQ-2 program equalizer
- two grey panel Melcor GE-20 graphic equalizers with rotary switches
- two early to mid 1970s Pultec model EQP-10S equalization systems, serial numbers 5512 and 6583, one with an NBC New York tag
- QE stereo filter unit with three stereo band equalizers and low/high pass filters at the rear of the rack
- two very early black panel Universal Audio 176 limiting amplifier tubes, serial numbers 49 and 51, among the earliest known
- black face Fostex digital delay model 3050
- blue face Orban stereo synthesizer model 245F; brown panel Limpander limiter expander tube with a large, very complex custom built ac distribution unit on the back of rack hand wired by Les Paul. This was Paul’s main control room compressor limiter, EQ rack for everything that he recorded in his studio. 78 1/2 by 24 by 22 1/2 inches

$12,000–14,000

Somewhere in there is the ORIGINAL Les Paul prototype, and they have put an estimate of $14000-16000.

Any 1950's LP will sell for $30K plus. I'm fairly confident that this will go for $500K+, once Larry Ellison and the other IT billionaires/guitar wannabes start bidding.

As a sidenote, Hendrix's woodstock strat sold for 2 mill back in 1998 (to Paul Allen, the #2 guy at Microsoft)

I assume the prices are auction house est
Which are always interesting if innacurate
But really aside from 10-20 really interesting pieces
There are alot of crappy hacked up lespaul
Bitsa guitars owned by les Paul

The 50s gold top is going to be mega bucks
But guitars are way way down from ten years ago

I hope somewhere somebody does a auction sale
Price list After the fact

I watched some of the auction live on line. It is amazing what some of the items sold for
$32,000 for a U 47, or it might have been a 251.
$4000 for a small gibson amp.
and $1900 for this collection of bits and bobs...... a few ampex cards, transformers etc....

I would say, from the auctioneers point of view, it was a great success. The estate of Les Paul would have to be happy with it too.

It sold for $46,000. It went from one extreme to another! The API console went for $106,000!
