US auctions are really heartbreaking to watch

- two grey panel Melcor GE-20 graphic equalizers with rotary switches

Somewhere in there is the ORIGINAL Les Paul prototype, and they have put an estimate of $14000-16000.

Any 1950's LP will sell for $30K plus. I'm fairly confident that this will go for $500K+, once Larry Ellison and the other IT billionaires/guitar wannabes start bidding.

As a sidenote, Hendrix's woodstock strat sold for 2 mill back in 1998 (to Paul Allen, the #2 guy at Microsoft)

I assume the prices are auction house est
Which are always interesting if innacurate
But really aside from 10-20 really interesting pieces
There are alot of crappy hacked up lespaul
Bitsa guitars owned by les Paul

The 50s gold top is going to be mega bucks
But guitars are way way down from ten years ago

I hope somewhere somebody does a auction sale

I watched some of the auction live on line. It is amazing what some of the items sold for
$32,000 for a U 47, or it might have been a 251.
$4000 for a small gibson amp.
and $1900 for this collection of bits and bobs...... a few ampex cards, transformers etc....

I would say, from the auctioneers point of view, it was a great success. The estate of Les Paul would have to be happy with it too.

It sold for $46,000. It went from one extreme to another! The API console went for $106,000!
